In the chemical-physical laboratory, a selection of tests and analyses are performed according to customer requirements. Analyses are conducted in accordance with valid standards and the standards used by our suppliers. In our work, proprietary methods are introduced, which are first harmonised with those of our suppliers.

In the metallographic laboratory, metal microsections are prepared – a small sample is covered with epoxy resin, surface ground and polished. Subsequent examination with an optical or electronic microscope yields much information about the studied sample, and this data is subsequently used in the investigation of competitors' samples, the development of new products, manufacturing quality control, and for customer service needs.

COMET is pleased to see that these analyses have been of great assistance to our technologists in the development of new products. They have also necessitated higher levels of quality and performance from our suppliers, which leads to better quality in COMET's product ranges.
