Research and development laboratory
COMET's research and development laboratory came into operation in 2003, with activities oriented towards all of the company's manufacturing areas. The laboratory cooperates with external institutions and individuals, bringing different views, knowledge and experience into its work.

Innovation activities
Innovation activities are encouraged and stimulated in COMET by working within the framework of Idea Management (IM). The purpose of IM is to promote a creative and motivational atmosphere and attract as many employees as possible to the process of collecting useful ideas, improvements and innovations.
From the initial implementation of the system in 2003 to September 2006, a total of 859 innovation proposals have been received, of which 61 % have been realized.
